DeLonghi TrueBrew Single Serve Drip Coffee Maker with Built-In Grinder, Silver

I am so overly thrilled with this unit. I had been looking at different DeLonghi appliances and other competitors but they always had more than what I needed. I don’t want an espresso machine with extra pieces like a steam wand that I will never use. I just wanted a perfect, freshly ground, brewed to perfection, quickly and automatically cup of coffee. And the TrueBrew hits every ball out of the park! From day 1 setup to now a week later 1-5 cups of coffee between 2 people everyday, we have been consistently blessed with a perfect cup every time. Sure we had to play around with temp (I recommend high) and figure out which strength was best for each of us (I love bold but my partner prefers gold). And sure I wish the external water reservoir and internal used grounds cup were both larger… but these are tiny inconveniences to pay when filling, emptying and emptying are such quick and effortless tasks. If you drink just coffee, black or add in a little milk and sugar, and want to get away from pods and into freshly ground coffee beans… look no further and grab one of these immediately. Horrible! The first one I bought was 2 weeks before Christmas. It would not prime. It would not work. Returned it on the 28th and got a new one. Second one primes and turns on but barely grinds enough beans to add a little colour to the water. It will not make a cup of coffee. My next step is to return it and get a refund. I’m very upset about this purchase.

so far i’m really pleased with this drip coffee maker. the big selling point for my wife and i was the lack of filters and/or pods, reducing the waste. we’ve only had it for less than a month, so it’s really hard to say how this will age. i’ve owned roughly 6 different nespresso makers that all died within the first year, so i’m hopeful delonghi can make a coffee maker that ages well (if not i’ll be updating my rating accordingly)

Bough this last year for Christmas. Decided to spend way more than I would have liked to as a treat for my wife and myself. I was not impressed with the noise and mess it made and how it would show errors way more often than it should. Figured out what was going on and added tape to the plastic tabs on the puck and dirty water containers to thicken them up so the sensor that detects if they are installed would reliably detect that they were in fact installed. The machine is always messy – constantly leaks coffee water and grounds all over the countertop. Over the last week or two it has been showing a new error which could only be resolved by unplugging it. I think now it’s finally dead. The removable press mechanism cartridge is stuck half-way and I can’t even get it out. All that expense and hassle and the coffee wasn’t even good. Do not recommend.
