The Canadian Tire website lists this fan at .3 sones, but the box says 1 sone. I haven't installed it yet, but not off to a promising start, since the selling feature was that it was so quiet.

This is a great fan does exactly as advertised

Use this fan to replace a 5cfm 5 som. The difference is astronomical its is very quit and moves the air is our bathroom about 40 cbf.

Not very good

Installed this fan to replace a very old very loud fan that finally quit. This fan is quiet but doesn’t even have enough wind power to open the back draft flap on the roof vent. Pretty disappointing.
No, I do not recommend this product.

We're sorry to hear you had a disappointing experience. All of Cyclone's bathroom fans are tested by a 3rd party independent laboratory and the advertised airflow rate is certified to be true and accurate. The airflow capacity of a product can be drastically reduced depending on the installation. Some factors to consider are; (a) diameter of duct used, (b) material of duct (solid or flexible), (c) total length of duct from product to exit point, (d) total number of bends and/or turns in the duct. A: The minimum height/depth clearance required for this product is 5 5/8". As long as your wall is deep enough to accommodate the housing, it can be done.
