They not only allow for a wide range of vertical adjustment for flexible drop and rise, but they also provide multiple trailer ball options and mounting platforms for towing different types of trailers. CURT channel mounts can also accept the CURT hitch step, adding a useful, adjustable step of the front or rear of the vehicle. The CURT hitch step attaches to the vertical channel of any CURT adjustable channel mount. It uses two pins and clips to securely fasten onto the channel and can easily be adjusted up or down in 1" increments to accommodate the exact needs of the job and vehicle (channel mount, pins and clips not included). For enhanced safety, the CURT adjustable hitch step features a textured surface with raised metal treads. This provides a non-skid step and helps resist slipping, even in wet conditions. The step measures a generous 16" wide, offering a comfortable stepping surface. To help keep the hitch step clean, it also features an open cutout design. This allows dirt and debris to get knocked off your boots with each step and to pass through onto the ground, keeping the step and the inside of your vehicle free from excess mess. Part of the versatility of the CURT adjustable channel hitch step is that it can be mounted on the front or rear of the vehicle -- anywhere you need it! With a rear-mount trailer hitch installed on the vehicle, the hitch step and channel mount can be inserted into the receiver tube for easier truck bed or cargo area access.
