Save your money for a dedicated pasta machine.

I purchased the Cuisinart stand mixer with all the available attachments at the same time. Here is my take on the pasta maker. The build quality is good and all parts fit well as intended, though one of the discs has a broken rim. (damaged in shipping) I am not so impressed with having to roll the dough into grape sized bals and roll them down the feed tube and would prefer to feed as you would a meat grinder using a push stick. As far as the process of producing pasta I am sorely disappointed in this machine. The discs have far too many outlets (as mentioned by an earier reviewer) causing the pasta output to contact and stick together and ruining the shapes. In my last attempt I tred all the discs and finally resorted to the two outlet flat noodle shape so as to not lose the batch of dough. With this disc I was able to cotrol the outputs and keep them from touching. I will likely not use this unit again.

Healthy Pasta Eating!!!

I had tried out this pasta maker attachment and I was impressed with how easy it is to operate. I had tried the black pepper flavoured pasta and yum!!! I wish there were more recipes! One thing though: There were too many outputs - as the strands tend to come downwards and stick to the ones at the bottom. For example, the macaroni plate allows seven strands of macaroni to come out. The top strands tend to stick to the ones at the bottom. But I learned. I use a scissor to cut them. Also, the instruction books says let the parts before cleaning: Don't, especially the tubular part! It'll be hard to take out the dry pasta remains! Use a brush or cloth to clean...I had used a small pointed knife to clean the remaining pasta on the groves. Overall, I can't wait till I try the next healthy flavourable pasta - no more buying pasta from store for me! :D

i received this as a gift along with the Quisinart stand mixer. I found it quite easy to use. the instructions were precise , and easy to follow for maintenance after use. I would hight reccomend this to family and friends
