My wife and I tried 2 other toaster brands and took them both back because they did not toast both sides of the bread.It was because of the poor quality heating element in them. The Cuisinart toaster browns both side of whatever you are toasting evenly every time. They make quality products that we can depend on. We are very happy with our Cuisinart purchase.

Seems to work fine. But Cuisinart should get with the times pieces of bread are all sizes why not make slots 1 inch longer.
