Cub Cadet 2X® 26-in IntelliPOWER® Snow Blower

58 winters and 5 snowblowers under my belt. just picked it up last night, we had 43 centimeters of snow 2 days ago in Montreal and my other snowblower decided to give up on me. my thoughts on this snowblower, lots of power, after 1st gear it gets really fast, blows snow like crazy, I love the steering triggers, the 2 led lights are really nice to have, not needing to play with a manual throttle is really good, having the metal chute is nice. the only 2 things I found wanting was 1st reverse gear is useless and the rotation of the snow chute is kinda sloppy. Now I just have to wait to see if it gives me 10 years of good service, which would mean that it cost me 200$ a year. beats the heck out of 750$ a year for a snow removal contractor!!!

Bought this to clear our outdoor rink. Worked great the first time. Second time I hit a hockey stick left in the snow. All four shear pins didn’t break, instead the gear box disintegrated. I have hit stuff lots with my old snowblower, you replace a shear pin and move on. Did some research, and this is a common issue with the shear pins being too strong and the gear box breaking. Local cub cadet dealer told me that’s why he doesn’t carry this model, I just couldn’t say no to the amount of C Tire money I got on this deal.

Parts seem to be very high quality. Putting this thing together required me to ignore the instructions and just figure it out. The instructions, to save the company money, are written in tiny print and combine many snow blower models into one, and then you have to figure out which model you have with pictures and no other identifier. For my 70 year old eyes, that wasn't easy. Again, just looked for bolts and holes and figured it out. In my opinion, and I am mechanically inclined, the instructions are all but useless. I did download the two relevant manuals and printed them larger for diagrams. There are far better ways to identify models other than just pictures. As for snow, we haven't used it yet, but I have total confidence that it will do a great job IF the "steering controls" don't break down. If they do break down, and the blower can still be operated, then fine. But if they break and that stops the show altogether that isn't good, obviously. As for recommending it, they need to have a third choice: "Maybe" Now the choices below such as "high performance" etc., are we still talking about me or have we shifted back to the snow blower?

Purchased the 2X Intelli Cub Cadet blower yesterday. Tried to use it this morning - it didnt do a great job by any means AND I was very surprised to find wiring unprotected - see picture. So so disappointed - anticipated a decent machine for over 2K. Machine was built by supplier for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just picked up this model and assembly couldn’t have been easier, had it together in 15 minutes, checked the oil, put gas in it and she started right up, ran her for about 30 minutes before changing the oil, so far so good, just waiting on the snow now !
