Great Mower, one issue

I picked up a Cub Cadet as a replacement for my old Husq mower for the farm property. It’s quite nice after a few sessions mowing our larger grassed property. Nice turn radius and handles the tall stuff well. One issue, kinda minor, one of the headlights doesn’t work. Not primed to mow in the dark, just kind of irking. But it’s a good unit thus far.

Life and Back Saver

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to buy one of these after we moved from the city to a 1.5 acre property out in the country. We first cleared the land the summer before and I was managing it with a push mower. Once the next summer set in, I realized I couldn't keep up. By the time I got my hands on this mower, we had weeds that were 6 feet tall. This beast managed to knock it all down. Granted, I had to pull the deck all the way up and take things slow and careful, but she pulled it off, only stalling out a few times which I can chalk up to user error. We'll see how it holds up after a few more seasons now that I keep the property at a manageable level. All in all, so far, I'm very satisfied with performance.

Q: Is it possible to add an hour meter to this unit?

  • A: It is much simpler than that. I found one at the local dealer. There is a square panel under the steering wheel. You pop it out and there is plug there that plugs into the mater which then pops into the hole where the panel was. No wiring screws or special mounting required.
