Had it for about a year and it keeps shutting off right after it heats up. I can’t even get it to turn on now

I have used Conair for a few years. This iron heats up quickly, has auto shut off which I like and my curls stay with this wand. The issue I wish they would fix is when holding the handle and using the clamp your hand runs across the temperature settings and rubs the numbers off where they are no longer readable. Then the dial spins and you have no idea of the temp. except by touch or guesstimating. This happens every time. Anyone else?
