Just wanted to comment on poor performance of this 20Watt panel.
I have 2 solar panels. One is 2W battery maintainer the other this 20W Coleman.
2watt panel gives the same voltage reading on voltmeter both indoors and outdoors.
20Watt panel only gives me 1.3volt with interior lightning.
As soon as I place in outside it jumps to 17V
Don't know why but this is the fact.
Don't measure the performance indoors, I guess.
And keep the panel clean if possible.

very poor performance

I really like amorphous solar technology because of it's relatively better performance in low light conditions, versus other solar types. I just bought three (3) of these panels and tested them on a cloudy day today, November 26, around 11AM, outside in the open, with panels facing up to the sky. One panel had only 8 Volts open circuit, and had some signs of wear on the frame. Another panel had only 11 Volts open circuit, and had a crack at the bottom of the glass. The third panel had 18 Volts open circuit (much better but still a bit low for amorphous), so I connected it to a good 12.5V lead acid battery, 21mA was measured through my meter and battery (0.26 Watts from the panel) (1/77th of the rated maximum power). I was hoping to get at least a couple Watts on a cloudy day. Maybe that was a bad panel. The meter used for testing is good. My 1 Watt Sunforce panel had 19Voc today for comparison of open circuit Voltage.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: This panel produces about 1.3A in ideal conditions. It would be better suited to maintaining a marine battery. A typical Group Size 24 marine deep cycle battery is about 70 Ah. If discharged 50%, you'd be looking at restoring about 35 Ah. This panel would need about 27 hours of IDEAL sunlight to fully charge the battery. To charge such a battery in a reasonable amount of time,you should be looking at 100W of solar panel (and, in which case, you definitely would to include a charge controller to keep the battery from overcharging).

A: En fait, tout dépends du système que vous avez. Si vous avez une banque de batterie 12v, vous devez obligatoirement connecter les panneaux en parallèle avec un contrôleur de charge. Effectivement, l'ampérage (intensité) vont s'additionner. Si vous avez une banque de batterie 24v, vous devez connecter en série vos panneaux en ayant toujours un contrôleur de charge adapté au voltage de vos panneaux. Dans cette situation le voltage va s’additionner mais l'intensité restera la même. Ne pas faire le second arrangement avec une banque de batterie 12v puisque vous allez abîmer(détruire) vos batteries...

Q: I have a new travel trailer with 2 deep cycle 12 volt batteries connected can I connect my solar panel to both batteries ? Or do I just connect to one? Or is this not recommended? Thank you

A: Yes you can hook up both, charging time may be a bit slower but in your application you should be able to hook up..I have both batteries in my boat hooked up and to date no problem.

A: The Coleman 20 Watt solar battery charger can charge any 12V battery, which can then run your inverter. You should also be able to connect to the power pack through the 12V terminals

A: Do you mean a water pump of sorts? If so those are normally amp hungry. The best would be to get the info off the pump itself, does it run on 120 volts AC(most probably) or can it also run off 12 volts. If it can run off 12 volts then I would use a car battery that is charged off of this solar panel using the Coleman charger controller to maintain the battery. However like i said if the pump is too amp hungry it might nor work for long, less than 24 hours, it could deplete the battery and the solar panel will have a hard time trying to charge a depleted battery. Just my 2 cents...

A: If tied in series, yes, as it has an output of 12 volts. But you will need the Coleman controller/charger that is sold separately... However these solar panels are made to maintain a charge for larger batteries like car batteries... it might not be able to charge high "amp hour" batteries from a depleted state. As a maintainer or "top off" its good...

A: You would need multiple(20, 30 or 40 watt) 12 volt solar panels connected in parallel to accomplish this. Or a couple 100 watt ones, and thats pushing it. Charging a deep cycle battery, such as a marine battery normally need 8 to 12 hours at a 10 amp charge for a depleted battery then another 12 hours at 2 amps... If you want to just maintain or top off the battery then a simple 20 watt or a couple of them is ok...

Q: use solar panel with power inverter can this panel be used with a power inverter to supply 120v power to a camera?

A: Most CCTV cameras run on 12 volts DC that is converted from 120 volts AC. Its better to go directly to 12 volts DC rather than convert it, as the conversion from 12 volts DC to 120AC itself is very inefficient. The better setup is a battery to be charged from the solar panel with a Colemen controller/charger that you would then connect to the camera... so in essence, the camera would run off the battery that is constantly being charged by the solar panels. When the sun goes down no sunlight is available to run the camera, that's when the battery would take over... And then when the sun comes up the solar panel would charge the battery..
