Great lantern but needs better instructions

When putting the batteries in PLEASE notice the rod coming from the battery top & the rod coming from the lantern; I did not & it was a mess!! The rod needs to match up! It is in a TEARDROP SHAPE not a circle so you have to match up the notches or you won't be able to close it or reopen it.
I don't know why Coleman doesn't specify this in the instructions. Alot of people have had issues with this.
Other than that, this is a Great little lantern. Bought it to use when we lose power.
Yes, I recommend this product.

If you want a reliable durable outdoor lamp Colema

We have the older version of this Coleman lamp as you can see in my picture. These are amazing to keep around for weather disasters. As in floods, you lose your power and you have a reliable Coleman lamp for indoor and outdoor and they are very durable The light is also very bright and this is the best outdoor lamp I have ever owned.

Advice to replace battery cover

We removed the batteries prior to storing the lantern last winter. This summer when we needed the lantern, we placed batteries back in the unit, but have been unable to reclose the base unit cover where the batteries are housed. In addition, we are unable to get the base (battery) unit open again. It is stuck. So we can’t open it and can’t close it. How do we remedy the situation? UPC = 076501244496. Codes above the UPC = 20201103 and 2000033830
No, I do not recommend this product.

For your safety and to prevent damage to the unit, we recommend not forcing the cover. Instead, we suggest trying the following troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure the batteries are properly aligned and seated in the compartment.
- Gently press down on the cover while turning it, sometimes the spring tension from the batteries can make the cover feel stuck.
- If the cover remains jammed, carefully remove the batteries (if possible) and attempt to realign the base before resealing.

mistake to purchase

Power switch broke. They obviously know this is a problem by the reviews, so sell a replacement piece....... only 35 bucks, but that's overpriced.
