BBq is great, Warranty is garbage!!

I bought this around 3 to 4 years ago. THE BURNERS ARE MADE AND WARRANTIED A DIFFERENT COMPANY!!! My burners where under warranty and they gave me every excuse in the world not to replace them. I got tired of fighting with them and bought a new set. They wanted a picture of they, I told them show me where it says in the warranty that I have to provide a picture of them. Anyway, keep that in mind, Coleman warranties the bbq but not the burners.

Acheté ce BBQ il y a déjà un an et c'est un bon achat. Pas de rouille, aucun bris et ce même s'il est a l'extérieur été comme hiver. Les grilles qui peuvent être retournées selon le mode de cuisson recherché sont très pratiques.

Buyers beware.

My review will echo the other reviewers who loved this grill initially until things start rusting and breaking. Don't even bother with their customer service. You'll be wasting your time. They wouldn't even allow me to speak with a supervisor. You will experience rusting cooking grates within a year or so even though you season them. And Coleman will say there's nothing they can do except that you have to buy new grates. Parts of my burner started rusting this year. In the manual, this part is covered for 5 years (my bbq was 4 yrs old) and they said "nope. wear and tear. not covered". No more Coleman for me.....ever!

Doesn't Hold Up

I've had this bbq now for two years and i use it about once a week. The stainless steel grates are rusting and The housing is rusting. The "even heat" feature is why I bought this bbq and its horrible. there are cold spots, warm spots and hot spots on this bbq. This makes you shift your food around to cook it evenly. I bought this on sale but knowing what i know now I wouldnt have paid $5 for this. I do not recommend this bbq.

Coleman customer service is awful

For the first month this bbq was perfect. A spot of rust formed so I cured the gills again as per manual. The rust came back with a vengeance and actually ate away under the porcelain coating. This caused the grill to flake and chip. Coleman customer "service" was brutal to deal with saying exactly what the manual said and told me I could buy new grills with my visa over the phone. I explained this was not my fault as I cured the grill 3 times exactly as they suggest and I suggested it was a defect. They became defensive defending their product. Long story short I have a very "even heat" bbq with a rusted grill. Now I have to spend more money and buy new grills or go with a more reputable bbq company. Yes Coleman is reputable but new to bbq's and it shows.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: What cooking tools to use? What type of cooking utensils can be used with this BBQ? Will stainless steel spatulas scrape and damage the grates/grill??

A: Regular stainless steel can be used. Damage caused by your utensils will be the least of your concern.....it's how fast the grates will break on you that should be worried about!
