Simply, I want to make my own coffee at work. A friend told me about coffee press. So I started to look for an insulated stainless steel coffee press and found this. It works great for me and the price is right.

coffee mug press

I like good coffee and the only way to make a good cup of coffee is with a press. This product is excellent for making that when camping. I like my coffee black so I drink it right out of the press. I do not find the press top to get in the way and if I want to add a little extra to the coffee then I will pour into another mug. Great product.

My parents both have personal camping coffee presses that they use during every cottage visit. The presses were bought decades ago and are in very rough shape. For Mother's/Father's day I purchased 2 of these new ones and my son decorated them with craft paint. My parents were thrilled, until it was time to actually drink from them. As another reviewer mentioned, the press handle sticks right out the top, making it extremely awkward to fit your nose in to drink from them. I agree that you could use the press to brew the coffee and then pour it in to another mug, but it doesn't pour particularly well and I purchased them with the intention that they would drink directly from them. I am extremely disappointed with this product and wonder how it could have passed any testing at all. And, sadly, because my son hand-decorated the mugs I cannot return them.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Very good coffee, but...

This thing makes great coffee, but the plunger knob gets in the way. If you have a nose, you might have trouble drinking drirectly out of it, so keep another camping mug handy and just pour it into that. I'm the only coffee drinker in the family, so this is the perfect coffee pot to take camping. Also, kudos to its colour scheme; blue with black and silver: Any BÖC fan can appreciate that. ;)

Q: Please tell me more about the design I am a bit unclear from the description; is this mug fully lined with bare stainless steel? What part of it is non-stick? What is the design of the drinking spout? Is it spill proof or spill resistant? Thanks!

A: a) there is a mistake on the website- non stick bottom should read non slip bottom b) the mug has an inner of stainless steel and outer of hard plastic c) there is a hole in the top cap for drinking- this is open ( ie does not have a seal) so it is not spill proof
