Perfect size for small closet. I purchased two of these and installed them at each end of the closet. Then I discarded the rods that came with this and moved the existing closet rod to the top of the closet (so it goes just over the top of both units). This leaves plenty of open space in the middle of the closet and lots of shelves on each side
