In the past I have used several different types of treatments most recently Meguiars on the leather seats in my Ford F150. Through regular treatments the seats had a nice sheen. Not too shiny but not flat/dull either. I have other CG products so when the Meguiars ran out I decided to give CG leather treatment a whirl. I have to admit that was a big mistake. The CG took away the sheen and turned the black seat almost grey. Made them look old and despite my heretofore constant care.
That wasn't the only problem. I guess the CG got their name for a reason. My truck now has an overpowering "chemical" like smell inside that hasn't abated in the last 10 days.
I squirted some of this stuff on my work bench to see how or when it might break down overnight.
Some of it did evaporate leaving a heavier cream like pile on the bench. Unfortunately it also coagulated the paint on the surface of the bench. i didn't see that coming.
My thanks go out to Canadian Tire for accepting the return of this partially used product without question or incident. Otherwise I would have been out $29.95 + tax for this less that satisfactory product. I shudder to think that I almost used it my leather living room furniture.
Perhaps this stuff works better on new unused leather. Most reviews are favourable but some are not. Nevertheless I cannot recommend it in any fashion

Q: Hi, looking to condition my black glossy leather kitchen chairs. The only bad comment this product had was regarding the Matte finish. I just wanted to be sure that your product would not remove the gloss that they already have. If not this then which?

A: I used the product on the leather seats in my Volvo amd on some leather furniture in our family room. I saw no issues with it. Try it on a small area of your chairs. It shouldn’t affect the shine at all.

A: Absolutely !. But remember to properly nourish and protect leather, you must first clean away any oils and impurities with Leather Cleaner.
