28t woodsplitter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Put this wood splitter together last week, the assembly was done in about 1.5 hours. The 28t champion woodsplitter has more than enough power for the first test run done with it. The sight glasses for the fluids are an awesome bonus. The basket keeps the engine safe and stops the blocks from falling to the ground. Super pleased with the unit.

28 ton woodsplitter

Bought this on sale earlier in the summer and was not looking forward to assembling this wood splitter. Once we finally took the time to do so found that the instructions were very clear and the amount of steps were not a daunting task after all. The wood splitter came with the oil needed for the engine and clear instructions on break in period for it. The hydrolic oil needed for the machine was not provided. It took a 5g pail of 32 hydraulic oil.
Over all I’m impressed with the splitters power and feel that I have a machine that will last a lifetime as it won’t be overworked and underpowered for the jobs ahead. The vertical splitting feature is an added bonus for logs that can’t be lifted up onto the machine.

Easy to use operating lever with single push retur

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 28 ton log splitter a week ago. It’s a heavy duty unit, I have used other ones but this unit is a great choice. The engine doesn’t struggle with splitting has lots of power. I split a lot of wood for my shop and this unit will get the job done nicely

Q: In the description you state that the unit has 301cc but in the product details it says 224cc Which one is it?

A: It's a 224cc engine - the Canadian Tire heading is incorrect. It does show as 224cc in the detailed description on the Cdn Tire website and on the Champion website. That size of engine is fine for a 28-ton splitter - I've had no issues with its performance. The Champion replaced a 25 tonne (28 ton) splitter by another manufacturer that had a similar sized engine - I'm spitting dense oak and have never had an issue.
