The Champion 20-Ton Gas Log Splitter makes efficient work of stockpiling firewood or processing fallen timber on your property or jobsite. Equipped with a 224cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder engine, this gas-powered splitter can be operated both horizontally or vertically and features a skewed wedge to easily cut through hardwoods. Heavy-duty, dependable and portable, it’s designed for towing or fits in most truck beds for easy transport.
Easily adjusts from horizontal to vertical to tackle larger, heavier logs with 20 tons of splitting force
Log catchers prevent split logs from rolling off
Includes 16" (40.6 cm) wheels with pneumatic tires, fenders and 2" (5 cm) hitch ball
Cycle time of 17 seconds, 200 cycles per hour
Max log size: 24" (60.3 cm)

Great machine
a month ago
Only have 6 hours on new machine but works great so far, starts first pull every time. I would have given a 5 star but there is no adjustment for support leg like on the older model to help level machine on uneven ground.

We have a heavy wooded property so this splitter can get through just about everything we throw at it. It's extremely heavy and lots of assembly required so best to have 2 people to assemble. Very happy with purchase.

A: Your call actually, you can recieve the splitter as is still in the crate OR have it assembled. Which by the way there is NO extra charge for assembly. Depending on how busy your local CT store is, it may be a day or two before you can recieve it. Items that are pre-paid take priority when it comes to the assembly.

A: The splitter requires 5 gallons of AW-32 hydraulic fluid which is not included.

Q: Why no hydraulic filter on the Champion log splitter ? May you install a filter without affecting the warranty ? Most problems with hydraulic systems is oil contamination.

A: There is a hydraulic filter on this splitter. It's in the tank. If you take the cover off were the main line to the pump comes out of the tank it is there. The picture in the owners manual shows it. I took it apart before I bought a inline filter, to make sure it was there.

Q: Can you adjust the throttle and how?

A: No and for good reason. With multiple adjustments it gets hard to remember and find all the happy spots that all the switches and buttons need to be in to start and run properly. So changes to full throttle ( how it should be run for the hydraulics to kick out the controls at the end of the return stroke instead of stalling the motor ) and the kill switch returning to the run position after you have shut it off. This saves the company from hundreds of calls from people learning how to use the machine.
