Bought this pump to pump my pool,pump was packed really well unpacked unit assembled the hoses added oil and gas. Had to prime the pump twice unit started first pull everytime impressed Pumped my pool down in no time, time to pack up unit quick and easy lite a compact for easy storage I will be happy with this unit for years to come. I recommend this product for anyone with a water problem where a large pump will not due

Q: Can you attach a standard garden hose to this pump?

A: Hello, this pump is only a transfer pump. It does not have a foot valve to control the pressure. By attaching a garden hose to this, it will reduce the water being drawn into the pump on the intake side.

Q: Are the inlet and outlet threaded connections NPT?

A: The inlet hose is threaded. And the outlet 90 degree elbow at the top of impeller is threaded but the rubber hose is held on to the elbow with a clamp.

Q: On 1" Water pump Champion are the threads really BSPT ? and cannot match up with our threads here ? What could you use to connect to our pipe thread ? Thank you.

A: Yes, it is actually BSPT on that unit. The difference between the two is that the angle across the flanks of the threads is 55 degrees instead of 60 degrees as it is for NPT....however, the NPT male will sometimes fit into a BSPT fitting or vice versa, but they WILL NOT seal. NPT is commonly used in United States whereas BSPT are widely used in other countries, ie such as Canada.

Q: Looking for a pump to build an outdoor rink on Georgian Bay. Anyone have experience using this product in wintry/icy conditions? Thanks!

A: The engine can be operated in temperatures as low as -15C or 5F. If the pump is going to be operated in temperatures below freezing, you need to be sure to purge the pump body and hoses of any water before allowing the machine to sit unused. If water should freeze inside the case or hose, damage can occur. When finished, be sure to winterize your pump using the included instructions, before storage.

All you need to do is add oil and gas to get your pump up and running.
