I measured well to make sure when the door is opened, there is no way to remove the chain; when the door is closed, the chain can put in place.

So flimsy my 11 years old broke it by mistake

Bought it a month ago. The little head that's attached to the chain, that goes into the rail on the door, broke after trying it with the mildest of pushes. I exchanged it. The 2nd one didn't last much more, my 11 years old didn't notice it was on when going out to throw the garbage, he just opened the door as he normally would and it snapped like nothing. A burglar would rip it with zero effort.
