Never used to buy self mix until a contractor showed how easy-to-use it is and to get your own preferred consistency. Way better than premix tubs that are always too thick and can't be thinned.

I've used it for years, good product.

I use this on joints in the drywall for maximum strength. I then finish with regular mud Its got the strengh and is dense. You dont use too much since it is hard to sand once dry. Its great for other applications where you need a hard finish.

Good product. Easy to work with. Sands easy, Dries fast. To get a good consistency, I had to mix 1water to 2plaster instead of the 1 to 3 recommended. After throwing away half buckets of premixed plaster a couple of times, I am happy that this dry one will keep a long time even if it requires a bit of mixing.
