Product Details

The Certified Snowblower Replacement Shear Bolt 5/16 x 1.5-in (0.8 x 3.8cm) is designed to fit most Troy-Bilt, Yardworks and Yard Machines 2-Stage Snowblowers with 3/4-in (1.9cm) auger shaft (2004 and earlier). This 2-pack shear bolt set replaces MTD #710-0890. Note that snowblower augers are secured with shear bolts and lock nuts. Through use, these will break or shear. Insert new shear bolts through the hole in the auger shaft and secure with lock nuts. Make sure to disconnect the spark plug wire and place it where it cannot contact the plug before servicing your snowblower.

Use these shear bolts, not regular bolts.

They're shear bolts. What can I say. They shear when the auger hits a big stone. Don't use regular bolts. They won't shear and it will strip your worm gear assembly.
