Q: Terrible query guide to match snow tire chains with snow blower models. Entered the make (MTD) and model (319 586 515) the response was that the Sno Hog tire chains would fit my machine. In fact these chains are 50% longer than required !

Q: Just purchased. I have the 16x6.6/8 Carlisle snow hogs, but these seem way too long. Are they supposed to be cut?

A: The chains are designed to fit tries 16-6.50 x 8 .The lock link will allow you to adjust the length to install so is snug on the tire. Keep the lock ling on the outside to help with the sizing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new chains with their zig-zag design absolutely perform as hoped. They are especially effective in wet and heavy snow. In sloppy snow the tires' treads get packed with snow and become like bald tires. Without chains, the snow's weight overwhelms the tires' lack of traction and the tires just spin. The chains make all the difference and the machine plows right through. For me, being small and elderly, on a scale of 1-10, they should get a "100". (Feel free to edit my praise.)
