Product Details

The Certified Replacement Shear Bolt 1/4 x 1 9/16-in (0.6 x 3.9cm) is designed to fit most Ariens Snowblowers. This 2-pack shear bolt set replaces Ariens #532005. Note that snowblower augers are secured with shear bolts and lock nuts. Through use, these will break or shear. Insert new shear bolts through the hole in the auger shaft and secure with lock nuts. Make sure to disconnect the spark plug wire and place it where it cannot contact the plug before servicing your snowblower.

Q: What grade is this bolt?

A: Shear bolts protect one of your most critical snow thrower components - the gear box. ATLAS shear bolts are manufactured to exact specifications including the engineered shear point grooves. It is not recommended to use standard hardware to replace shear bolts.

Q: What's the difference between "small" & "large" sizes? Is it just length or width or both? I need a bolt that is 1 9/16" x 5/16" or 1/4" thread. according to my manual part #53200500.

A: Shear bolt package 60-3966 is the correct replacement for Ariens OE #532005 shear bolts. These are the “small” 1/4” O.D. x 1-9/16” long shear bolts. Product 60-3967 is the “large” shear bolt package, which includes 5/16” x 2-1/8” long shear bolts that replace Ariens OE #510015.
