38 inch belt worked in my Craftsman 27 inch 8.5 bl

Just bought this today as I needed a 38 inch replacement for my Craftsman C950 snow blower (27 inch). The old one had stretched over the years and was no longer engaging and throwing snow under load. I put this one in today and the old "Snow Dragon" came back to life. I also grabbed two shear pins and managed to find the right size. My machine is back to working order!

Q: This product has packaging reference noting that it is a replacement for Craftsman original part number 585416 but that belt is 38 3/8" in length, not just 38". The extra play will be important for fit...can you confirm that this is an exact replacement?

A: I had no issues with the replacement of the belt. My snowblower is the Murray 14.5. It is the professional version of the Craftsman blower, using a Briggs/Stratton engine.

Q: Would this auger belt fit for a Briggs Stratton 1024MD snowblower. The BS number for the OEM belt is 707584. Thanks

A: no because the belt you ned is a belt 1/2 X 40 1/2 inch and the belt y bought is only 1/2 X 38 1/2 inch. Belt to short.

A: This 38” belt replaces Murray part number 585416 used on 8hp and 10hp two-stage snowblowers. Please consult your owner’s manual to confirm correct part number.
