    Remember to buy counter weights

The unit is very solid...it works fine...the only reason I knocked a star off is because they should have stated on the box that it requires a minimum of 75 pounds per peg to hold it in place so it doesn't move. 225 pounds of weight is an extra expense I hadn't though about when purchasing this as a Christmas gift along with the 100 pound punching bag itself.

Great stand, well made and does what it needs to do. But it is about 1 foot to low. For someone 6 feet you're punching the top edge of the bag. Was able to get some caribiners and hook them at the bag instead of off the chains, which is much better, but may compromise the bag longevity.

It slides, though you put 75 lbs of weight and 80 lb heavy bag on it

Easy to put together and good to move around even with bag on it.

Set it up on 1/2" rubber weight lifting interlocking squares with only 25lb weights on the 3 pegs (I think the manual recommends 75lb) and have not had it slide or move. One user complained about issues with the bolt holes not lining up and gave it a 1 star rating. I had a similar problem: 1 hole was slightly too small and the bolt would not go thru it. I had to drill it out (1/2" bit I think); took me all of 5 minutes to fix. Otherwise, would give it 5 stars. Solid stand otherwise.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: How much weight is recommended to hold it in down//keep it from moving?

    1 Answer
    • A: This depends on the surface the stand is placed on and the intensity of the impact on the unit. We do recommend that the weight is evenly distributed on both sides of the unit. For best results simple trial and error with differing weights is best.

Q: Can this stand be used for Muay Thai? Ideal placement location would be in a corner, therefore is there enough space between the bag and the walls to throw traditional Muay Thai techniques like roundhouse kicks, knees, elbows, clinch, etc.

    1 Answer
    • A: This bag can be used for the Century Muay Thai Bags exactly like the items carried by Canadian Tire (Item#84-0679) Please note that the design of the stand allows contact to be made from a variety of angles as long as care and caution are exercised. As with all Heavy Bags and Heavy Bags stands, while striking the bag the user should be constantly checking to make sure it is being used in a way that is safe and there is no possible contact with other objects or people. Also, Heavy bags should never be used on a bag stand for leg and foot strikes. As the bag swings an inaccurate leg strike could hit the stand which is rather unforgiving. Bag stands are designed for hand strikes. For best results a Muay Thai bag should be suspended from a beam or ceiling in an open area that allows plenty of space for 360 degree striking and room without danger from striking anything other than the bag.

Q: will the UFC heavy bag work with this Century stand? I feel like the bag would touch the pole because the UFC bag is thicker than the Century bag.
