Made from traditional cast iron with a galvanized coating for durability and weather resistance, the dock cleat is ideal for dockside moorings. With recessed, hexagonal mounting holes that prevent the carriage bolt head from turning, and eliminate the need for two wrenches when mounting, this dock cleat is invaluable in marine environments.

The cleat you actually want to put on your dock.

This year my friend who lives on the local lake told me I could moor my boat at his place, as long as I built a dock. So, I built one. When it came to deciding how to tie off my boat, there really was only one option I would accept.. an actual metal cleat. If your boat is bigger than say, 12' Don't bother with the nylon stuff, those might be acceptable for dinghies or other small vessels. My boat is 23' long, and catches enough wind that if it's not anchored it can get up to 5kts.
