Q: Do I need a power drill to assemble or manual screwdriver? Also what bit?

A: Much easier with a power drill, but you can muddle your way through with a screwdriver - you will be quite tired however as there are a lot of screws to be put in. It uses large Phillips heads screws.

A: The CANVAS Robson Narrow 4-Shelf Bookcase with Cabinet is composed of an engineered wood with a paper laminate finish. Engineered wood is a combination of high quality hard wood and soft wood materials which are residuals of other lumber processes. These materials are bonded together with a synthetic resin, and then applied to high heat and pressure.

Q: Hi! What is the size of the opening BETWEEN the metal uprights? (ie. 17-1/4" minus the width of the uprights.) Thanks

A: Each upper opening of the CANVAS Robson Narrow 4-Shelf Bookcase with Cabinet measures approximately 15 3/4" W X 14" D. The small top opening measures 3" H, the second is 12 3/4" H, the third is 13 3/4" H and the bottom opening is 14 3/4" H.
