After the first year rust dripping from the top of the umbrella on to the table. The umbrella wouldn't go past the bar toward the top without assisting which is difficult for someone under 5"5. At 2 years the spring in the mechanism to put the umbrella up and down broke now the umbrella will not stay up.

Q: How do I lock umbrella in a tilt position. I can get it to tilt but it just uncranks when I walk away.

A: Hello Harv2, my goal is to answer your question accurately. To tilt the CANVAS Outdoor/Patio Auto Tilt Market Umbrella and have it stay in that position, you will need to use the same crank that opens and closes the umbrella. First, open the umbrella fully using the crank. Then, continue turning the crank in the same clockwise direction to engage the tilt mechanism. The umbrella will lock into the tilted position when you stop cranking. To return it to an upright position, turn the crank counterclockwise. A: Hello Rick, once the umbrella is in the open position, you must continue cranking in a clockwise direction for your desired tilt and you will need to stop cranking once the umbrella stops tilting. Thank you for your question.

Q: Canvas market umbrella with auto tilt. Product number 18800392-0. It appears that it only tilts in one direction. Is there a way to turn the umbrella without loosening off the bottom at the turtle/stand .
