Q: I bought theses planters and between my husband and neighbours we cannot find an overflow valve. Can you please send a picture of the overflow?

A: There is no overflow valve, but it doesn't matter. I have two and love them. They can hold a lot of rain water and the plants are thriving. But in case that there is heavy rain for too long, you might want to move them away from the rain temporarily.

Q: How does this planter balance self watering vs over watering. If you remove drain plug so as not to overwater, how does it store water to then be self watering? This makes it no different than regular planter with drain holes, or a bucket with no holes?

A: Hello, our drain plug valve actually does not start at the bottom of the planter. It is raised a bit in the planter allowing excess to pour out the overflow hole. *Reservoir holds ample water, turning watering your plants into occasional task *Wicking basket waters plants as needed to prevent water stagnation and root rot *Overflow valve prevents over watering * Removeable drain plugs allows indoor or outdoor use. Q: Do you know if this is suitable for use with vegetables? I bought this thinking I’d put a tomato plant in it, but now that I see it is made of recycled tires I am not sure that is appropriate. Any information about safety with edible plants?

A: Hello, our planters have been tested by certified independent 3rd party facilities and found to pass "Toxicity Leachate Procedure". The fact that our planters have been tested to show they do not leach any known harmful toxins (as already outlined) – effectively declaring that our planters will not contribute any known toxic substances into the soil – and by extension would not have any contribution to any plants or vegetation via direct or indirect contact with the planter. In other words, if it doesn’t leach into the soil, then it can’t get into the plant, and equally into any food. Thank you.

A: Integrated self-watering reservoir system • This system helps to ensure balanced water & soil conditions, while requiring less frequent or regular watering. • The separation between the soil and water, allows for water to naturally and automatically wick into the soil, providing an optimal amount of water for growth and/or yield. • In addition, when using outdoors with the drain plug removed, the reservoir is self-draining thereby preventing overwatering or drowning your plants. Maximize the efficiency of the integrated self-watering reservoir system in the following steps: Step 1 – Place the watering reservoir piece cone down to the bottom of the planter and fill the top with potting mix or soil to activate the watering system. Step 2 – Fill the planter with water, allowing excess to pour out the overflow hole. Remove the drainplug for outdoor use. Step 3 – Start planting and enjoy! For refill, add water to the top of the planter.
