Lights begin to quit after a month

a month ago

I bought these lights thinking they were a quality product. After a month I had used up all of the replacement bulbs they provided. Which should have been a red flag, that they provide multiple spare bulbs. Now. I’ve got 2 more that are dead and require replacement. The lights are permanently mounted and can’t easily be returned or I would have done that and got my money back. DO NOT BUY!

Do not string together with multi sets.

But 4 sets of these bulbs for my back yard thinking they could be plugged into each other. They do not. Seems pointless for larger projects. Also does not indicate this limitation on the box, website or instructions. Won’t be able to return because by the time I got the time to install. It was out of the return period. I don’t recommend.

Q: Are the bulbs plastic or glass?

A: The bulbs are glass. I liked these strings and they worked for a few years for me, but I just replaced them with led lights. The problem is that the replacement bulbs cost more than a new string. So, now that they are replaced, I have six strings of lights with no bulbs (because they all eventually burned out).

A: I don’t have mine up against any siding, but we used them behind the sheer back drop at our wedding and was on for hours, they were not hot to touch and didn’t make a brown mark on the fabric. A year later I have had them put up around my gazebo and still haven’t burnt anything, and they are left on for hours.

A: Yes I have for years. They age quickly hanging as a string but the ones under the cover of my front porch look great over the year. They get dusty. It can be much cheaper to buy a new string just for the bulbs than buy bulbs separately

Q: What is the wattage on the bulb/string? What is the lumens on the bulb/string? The product description say 0.1 lumens which does not seem correct.

Q: I love the lights, but they're a bit TOO bright at night. I was looking for a orange filament glow. Is there a gadget/ 'dimmer switch' that can be used to reduce the brightness?

A: Some of the orange glow is only obtained with a different bulb, there are filaments that are orange or you can change the bulbs out for a lower wattage bulb. If they are switched on you can use a dimmer switch. Confirm you have the right type of dimmer for the bulbs.
