I was forced to take a used item in a bad shape

I ordered this item online on December 19, 2025 with option to pickup with at Ogilvie Canadian Tire store (2010 Ogilvie Rd). When I got to the store, I encountered the most bizarre thing that has ever happened to me!
I was forced to take a used item that was returned by someone! I tried to reject the blanket, and the store manager called Lisa, said that I couldn’t return the blanket because it was a seasonal product, and that deadline to return those items was yesterday.
I tried to reason with them as follows:
First of all, I bought this item today online, and secondly, I came to pick up the blanket not to return it. So, if it used/damaged, I am not obliged to take it because I didn’t purchase used or open box item. The response I got is that, once you pay it is considered a final sale.
Then, I requested if they could give me a store credit. They refused, saying that I couldn’t get a store credit, but I had to get an item right away with the same amount. I responded that I didn’t need didn’t need anything at the moment.
Then, they told me that my only option was to take the used item and go to another store and exchange it!

Sheds a lot

This blanket is a great size and weight and beautiful colours but sadly it sheds a lot. I've thrown it in the dryer on low temp but hasn't helped much in removing the fuzz. Might try my clothes shaver on it.
