Q: What weight capacity can this hold on the top if it is placed horizontally? Written description says 185lbs. Pictures say 135lbs.

A: I bought this 6-cube unit from Cdn Tire about 9 months ago and have it placed horizontally in my kitchen. Its packed with appliances and tins and glass jars of food (e.g. Costco size.) It is very sturdy and shows no signs of wobble or sag. I can put 200lbs of body weight on its top (while on its side) and its exactly the same -- no appearance of being under strain. I actually never read the weight limit; I just filled it full of kitchen stuff and have no complaints.

A: I don't have exact number amounts for how much it holds--but caution that, although sturdy, this item is meant for household use and not for industrial capacities. Consequently, I would consider using it only for low to medium density items. It is a sturdy household shelf.
