(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I never had an umbrella base before, so it's hard for me to compare with other brands.
Overall this one seems to be of good quality. The material looks a bit cheap (it's just plastic) but it does the job and it's great for all seasons.
Super easy to set up, just need some sand on it and works perfectly.

Q: Are you supposed to fill it with sand or lime stone all the way to the top of the lid ? How can you remove it at the end of the season without it getting sand everywhere ? Or are you just supposed to fill the 4 quadrants, I can only get a bag of 18kg in.

Q: My top cap does not fit into the hole on the lid. Do you need to fill sand all the way to the lid to make it work ? Do you need to use a lot of force or should it just go in with ease ?

A: In the initial assembly there was some resistance which required some force to get that top cap to snap in…I personally was not able to snap it in.. I had to ask for my husband’s help, but once it’s in, I don’t see the need to ever have to remove it…doing so I feel would compromise the stiffness of the edges which helps to keep it snapped in place. I’ve filled my umbrella base with sand to full capacity for a heavier and sturdier base to hold my fair sized umbrella…so far so good. I’ve only started using it for a about a week now but I’m generally happy with it.

A: The base doesn't have much weight by itself.... It requires sand to get the weight. I used 2 bags of sand and packed them into the base. With this, the base supports the umbrella decently.

Q: We like the sturdiness of the umbrella base but the plastic piece right around the pole at the base does not fit into the larger part of the base, is it defective or are we not doing something right?
