Product Details

The Burcam Check Valve features a check valve made from durable black ABS. This 1 1/4 inch vertical check valve fits submersible and colum sump pumps with the same discharge size. It quietly allows water to flow upwards but then closes to form an airtight seal, preventing backflow and ensuring water only travels in the desired direction. Simple yet effective, this check valve works behind the scenes to keep your sump pit dry.

Nearly flooded basement

Been installed a year as I have a sump pump and a backup battery sump pump that goes into a “Y” into one discharge pipe. Each pump has a check valve. Today the power was out and I decided to go check and ensure my backup was running. The backup was running but this check valve on the main pump failed allowing my backup pump to pump water right back into the pit through the main pump. Thank god I came down and checked as the water level was only a few inches from my basement floor. If you have a backup pump setup the way mine was I highly suggest to have a second hole drilled in the foundation and having two seperate discharges, one for each pump. This is not the first time I have had one of these fail.

No, I do not recommend this product.
