Great quiet replacement, easy install

Poor airflow

This fan does suck at all. Doesn’t even hold up a piece of toilet paper. Twice the CFM’s as previously fan and previous fan did a better job. Very disappointed.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Customer Care
Thank you for your feedback of the AER110K. The fans are not designed to hold anything up to the grille, including toilet paper. They are not vacuums, but exhaust fans. They will exhaust the warm, humid, moist air from the room directly to the outside. The smoke test is a better way to determine performance of the unit. Light a candle or match and blow it out. If the smoke is being pulled up into the grille, the air is exhausting. The duct type, run, and length can affect the performance of the unit. The duct run should be as short and straight as possible. If an elbow is used, we recommend 2' of straight duct before or after any elbow. We do not recommend an elbow right off the housing. A 4" round duct size should be used. Anything smaller will decrease performance and increase sound. The unit should be ducted to the outside through a wall or roof cap. Never duct a fan directly into the attic. We do hope you will find this information helpful. Should you need more assistance, we would be happy to discuss this with you further. 7 Sonnes? Defective?

Purchased from Rona to replace an old 3.5 sonnes fan. Installed according to the instructions. When I turned it on, expecting it to be whisper quiet, it was instead louder than the one I replaced. Measured the decibel output as an average 57 db (7 sonnes!!) using an app on my phone. To say I am unsatisfied would be a gross understatement.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Customer Care
Hi Anonymous We are sorry to learn of your experience with AER110K model. This model is rated at 1.0 sones. Static pressure in the duct run may cause the unit to perform lower and sound louder than expected. The duct run should be as straight and short as possible. There shouldn't be an elbow connecting the duct work to the housing. There also shouldn't be an elbow connecting the duct work to the wall/roof cap. We recommend two feet of straight duct before and after an elbow or bend. We would be happy to discuss your installation with you. Please reach out to directly via the Contact Us page on our website at www.broan-nutone.ca. A sone is a measurement of sound in terms of comfortable hearing level for an average listener. The lower the sone value, the more comfortable the listening environment. Sones are not decibels or volume, but rather how sound is "sensed". Sones are a better measure than decibels because sones are linear (2 sones is twice as loud as 1 sone as opposed to decibels which are logarithmic - 66 decibels is twice as loud as 60 decibels). Please reach out to us and we will gladly try to assist you more.

Not worth the money

The Good: very quiet operation. The Bad: Very poor suction, barely moves any air. I have two 30 year old Broan bathroom fans that do a way better job than this one and they were bottom of the line fans at the time. The wire retainers for the cover are too flimsy, poor quality, they don't hold the cover on tight. After using it 4 or 5 times, heard a loud clunking sound. Had to take it all apart and found that the plastic damper flap came off inside! Poor quality construction, I won't buy Broan again.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hello junkyarddog, we apologize for your experience. Poor suction could be related to the installation of the ducting connected to the unit if the fan motor is working properly. Or it could have been caused by the damper issue as well. Please contact us at 1-800-567-3855 so we may better assist you. Thank you!

Funny Noise

I installed this product and the fan has a funny noise. However, I am definitely not removing the whole unit from the attic now that it is installed. Hopefully I can just get a replacement fan and motor. Fan looked to be covered in lint but didn’t realize until the rest of the unit was installed.

Hello Jonno, we apologize for your experience. We do not sell used fans so it's very strange that there would already be lint on the fan if it was just installed. Please contact us at 1-800-567-3855 so we may try to assist.

Questions

1 - 2 of 2 Questions

Q: Can this fan be retrofitted with the older 671 sp Broan

1 Answer
  • A: Hello Dwire, thank you for your inquiry! AER110K would be the closest replacement to 671SP in today's lineup of products, however, the AER110K has a 9 1/4" x 10" housing. There may be some ceiling work required to install the new fan. Please contact us at 1-800-567-3855 should you require further assistance.
