      Really bad design

The hose connects to the handle part which means that every time you pump, the hose moves. That and the hose length is so short that it is constantly disconnecting from the thing you are trying to inflate. This is really bad design. The air port needs to be on the base of the pump.

No, I do not recommend this product.

      Frustrating, requires DIY solutions.

If you delight in having your new car's steering wheel come off in your hands every time you drive it, this pump is for you. As noted by another reviewer, the connecting fittings are only whimsically attached to the inflating hose. The latter attaches to the handle, so the hose reciprocates wildly as one pumps, leading to the fittings separating in seconds. Further, the pump's check valve is ineffective. My every-day mattress begins deflating [quickly] within a fraction of a second of my ceasing pumping. In spite of the pump's generous bore and stroke, the air-flow seems rather modest. I suspect there is internal leakage [possibly past the piston]. Both times I've used it, I immediately set aside the pump, and inflated the mattress using my screaming-with-pain lungs, which took seconds and resulted in a firmer bed [and eyes bulging out of my head]. I'm giving it one star, because it LOOKS like a pump, and I'm hoping I'll have a brainwave to make it serviceable.

No, I do not recommend this product.

      Good for the price

Bought this pump today and tried it with my float tube fishing boat. It worked really well to inflate and was also really fast on the deflate. Only thing is that the adapters wouldn't stay in the valves sometimes. I had to hold the connection together at points. Otherwise it works great.

      Yes, I recommend this product.

      Works great

Purchased for camping and blowing a double air mattress. 150 pumps it was fully inflated. Another couple we were with had one of the foot pumps. They used our pump instead much faster. Only problem is the multiend head sometimes comes off, might be we did not push it on hard enough all the time.

      Yes, I recommend this product.

      Expensive one time use.

I bought this pump after reading many of the reviews and was impressed with it's high star rating. It worked great...the first time. Now, the nozzle will not stay in what ever you are trying to inflate. This makes pushing down on the handle tricky when you are busy holding the nozzle in. On top of that, the way in which the hose is attached to the pump itself is quite shoddy and unless you keep the handle perfectly straight (without any rotation) it will continually detach. Between holding the nozzle in your inflatable and the hose to the handle, you have no free hands left to actually pump. So unless you have another set of hands handy and are wanting this to be a frustrating exercise in teamwork, don't bother buying this pump.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Can I pump my football with this? Does it come with a football valve?

      2 Answers
      • A: I'm not sure if it came with a football needle. There's no way this pump will produce enough pressure for a working-pressure football. The pump's practical output pressure is less than or equal to what I can blow with my lungs [putting up with some discomfort].

      • A: No way will this pump produce enough pressure to inflate ANY tire I've ever seen. Maximum output is less than one PSI.

      • A: My answer: a qualified yes, if you can solve the problem of the fittings falling off the hose. The pump is not very efficient, and not satisfying to use.

Q: works on tires? how? I went to see this in store - it does not have Presta or Schraeder valve adapters or any way of attaching them, however the reviewers are suggesting they have used this on tires.... how?

      • A: Having inflated bike tires about a thousand times with a floor pump, and car tires at least a hundred times with same, I'd say no way is this product intended for inflating tires. One factor, but by no means the only one: the pump does not put out more than one psi, and likely its output is closer to 0.5 psi.

Q: will the adaptors on this air pump (76-0144-8) fit the valves on a Sevylor 400 sunburst imflatable dingy ? Tks - Neil

      1 Answer
      • A: Response from vendor: This pump comes with 3 valve adaptors that fit nearly every inflation valve. I am not 100% sure what valve Sevylor has on their dingy but yes it should work. You may want to double check with Sevylor that they have a standard valve on their dingy.
