Nice for 1 person

I have had this easy up tent for about 1 year now. It is fairly easy to put up but there is an issue with the hinges on the tent poles pinching the mesh windows and when you try to erect the tent it will rip a hole in the mesh. Had to use duct tape to fix the holes. This has happened 3 times for me. Otherwise it is a comfortable tent for 1 (max 2) people.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Easy to set up....

First one we bought had a broken pole, had to exchange it. Second one was in better shape. Decent in rain, and easy enough to set up. Durability on this thing is very poor. Our second one lasted about 8 outings, if that. It ended up ripping at the top where the poles meet. The poles were also starting to split from being hard to extend sometimes. We were already talking about having to replace this one soon before we noticed the rip. 2 stars max.

No, I do not recommend this product.

No frustration tent - perfect for 4

Been camping annually for a long time; this is our 3rd tent purchase and is the best tent by far in terms of ease of setup. You just need someone to hold the middle up for about 2 minutes while you extend all the legs. Clip the fly to the end of each leg, stake it down and you be done! No more mucking around with poles or stress trying to give the better half directions on what to do - just hold it up for 2 minutes, please dear ;-) We are a family of 4 - I'd say it is a very perfect tent for 4 to fit comfortably roomy and next to each other, each with sleeping bag size mattresses. Can't really do more than 4 side by side, though. Then lots of room in front and behind for bags and such. You could add one more person horizontal in front or behind if you have 5 and still be ok but with less space to put stuff. Overall quality of the tent seems very good; we didn't have rain so I can't comment but I always seal all the seams anyways. The fly doesn't come all the way to the ground, so the ventilation is very good; this is good for hot/warm nights, ok for cool, but on colder nights it will be cold like our last tent that has a similar design where 2 of the 4 walls are completely open mesh. All these dome tents these days are like this, though. Full fly tents for cold costs lost more and not too good when hot - pros and cons. It's why all our sleeping bags are at least rated for -5C; if its too hot just push it aside (there room in this tent to do this no problem), if it's cold, everyone is good. Lastly, like everything else at cantire, wait till it goes on sale for half price and you can't go wrong with this one ;-)

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 5 of 5 Questions

Q: How high is it? Is it tall enough for someone to stand in? Will it comfortably fit a double high queen air mattress and a large dog bed?

2 Answers
  • A: As for being tall enough for someone to stand in, that depends really on how tall the person is. My husband and I are both medium height 5'6" and 5' 8" respectively and we had no problem. We were not only able to fit our double high queen air mattress in it but our dog bed, our suitcases, our toiletry bags and several other things as well.

Q: Tent size? Conflicting online specs & packaging The Canadian Tire website specs says the tent is 13 L x 12.5 W x 5'2 H, however, the tent bag (see photo) reads 12 L x 10 W x 5'10 H... just wondering which one is right?

1 Answer
  • A: The 13 L x 12.5 W x 5'2 H, is the original size of the tent which was a five sided design that wasted floor space. A running change was made to 12 L x 10 W x 5'10 which is a rectangular shape and better use of the floor space. This is the correct size.

Q: what are the poles for that come with the tent? (besides the angled one for the front of the fly)?

  • A: The Easy-Up Tent: poles are pre-assembled inside the sleeves with locking joints and use a central hub system, making it easy to lay out the tent, pull-up the frame and lock into place.

Q: dimension empaquetée J'aimerais vérifier que les dimensions spécifiées de la tente emballée sont réellement bonnes... Il me semble que c'est énorme 46 cm x 25 cm x 113 cm par rapport à toutes les autres tente de cette dimension.
