B&S 1024 Elite issue

Bought the unit Nov. 2025 runs well with some issues. The rotational chute control rod keeps coming out of the control handle gear box control. I don't think the design is very good if the rod keeps backing out. There is nothing to stop it from backing out of the control box. Also the chained gas cap has come off so now they chain is hanging loose when removed and not stopping it from falling on the ground. Called Briggs and Stratton support line recorded message, on hold for almost 20 minutes until a message confirms my phone number and says a representative will call back when available. After a week no one called me back, decided to call them back went through the same process no one called back. Finally annoyed called CT told them about my experience and they suggested there service provider that is not convenient. Called another service center for B&S hoping they can come to the house and repair it and hope this is covered under the 3 year warranty and not that they say it wasn't assembled properly. Not particularly happy with the whole scenario. Just want to say buyer be aware.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Horrible after sale customer service

I tightened all bolts as per instruction specs. On the first day of operation, the handle bolt came loose and went into the show. I called Briggs & Stratton customer service, waited on hold then was told I would receive a call back. Nobody called back. Customer service email from manual bounced back. Website from manual also did not even list snow blowers as a product and wasn’t helpful either. Canadian Tire was great, but Briggs & Stratton have brutally horrible customer service.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Chute control stopped working

Bought this blower a little over a month ago but having issues with the chute control. It doesn’t work when plowing and can’t control the chute to move it up and down. Also. Round oin of charging point broke after a few uses.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Lasted a week

Used for a week, drive stopped engaging. Store refused a return. Limited warranty only covers manufacturer defects, limited places here do warranty work anyways, so I’m stuck with a bill after a week of use. Check the warranty before you buy non-Canadian Tire brands. They definitely don’t tell you it on their part.

Q: is there any ajustment to make the above unit go slower other than 1st gear and thottle..it moves way to fast for heavy snow and wants to crawl on top of it making it take many multible passess to do job.my old one had 6 gears also and 1st was very slow

A: No it doesn't come assembled , it took me about an hour to assemble. The handle and all the cables that attach to it require to be installed and the snow chute. You would have to contact your local Canadian tire store to see if they would assemble and what the cost would be.

A: There is NO switch......There is wiring on the side of the snowblower so maybe the wiring has disconnected??? Just follow the wire from the headlamp to the connection and see what you can find......There should be another wire where the 2 just plug into each other
