Kayak Cart

This cart is that best. We live across the street from the water and have two kayaks. They are so easy to put on the cart and walk them across the street and down the lawn to the beach. A must have for transporting the kayak.

Great cart.

This is my 3rd year using the cart. 1st with a 16ft fiberglass canoe and now with a 14ft Kevlar canoe. The cart does it's job as stated . Would buy another one.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not for canoes

This cart should ot be advertised as suitable for a canoe it absolutely should not be used under a canoe unless you are on pavement for 10 feet. Waste of money

Q: I'm confused about the position of the canoe. Do I have to pull the canoe sideways or can I pull it length wise so it fits through entrances to parks and stuff?

  • A: I place the canoe lengthwise along the keel line in the stand, with the stand placed at about the middle line of the canoe. The built-in “kickstand” faces the front end.

Q: The instructions for using the tie down straps are confusing. The buckle strap seems to be on the wrong side for a double loop over the kayak. Any ideas? All the videos I’ve seen use non-attached straps.

  • A: The strap is actually very long, so loop the long strap over your kayak twice, come back under the kayak/frame diagonal and then loop it to the buckle. The top straps would go straight across, while the under strap would cross diagonal. It worked for me walking about 100m, through grass, sand and some gravel, but mostly flat terrain from the dirt roadway.

Q: What size kayak can this be used for, want to use it to walk to lake and back?

  • A: I purchased this last year for my 16’ fibre glass canoe. I put paddles . Jackets and anything else that is going for the day. I have had no issues with weight or durability. I do use an extra ratchet strap to hold tight to the cart as the trails are not smooth. It’s about find the right spot to balance and you are good to go.

Q: Has anyone used this trolley on a 12' angler kayak?

  • A: Yes. It’s pretty much universal. I wouldn’t go hiking through the woods and expect it to stay tight but it works on short distances or relatively good environments.

Q: What is the difference between this and the Shoreline Mini Kayak/Canoe Cart?

1 Answer
  • A: We have both. We bought the Shoreline first a few years back. It works not bad but a bolt on one wheel broke off in the middle of a long portage. My husband managed to improvise with a piece of wire until we got back home and fixed it. We are much happier with the new cart. The wheels are much better quality. Also it's much easier to stabilize while mounting the boat onto it. Better investment all the way around!!
