Keeps cutting out after trying several different cords

I've never had a problem with my phone not charging. however, after buying this charger and trying it out, it appears to be defective. the charge kicks in for 10 seconds, then shuts off, then turns on again for another 10 seconds and so on and so on. the light keeps flicking on and off on the charger as well. I've tried changing up the cords and I've even tried other devices. it's clearly this charging block that's the issue. now I've thrown out my receipt and packaging, and all I will be able to do is get an exchange or gift card. garbage
