They don't last

Compact fluorescent bulbs have always been marketed as long-lasting, but I've found just the opposite. These bulbs, however, are only lasting a few months before they die. Stay away.

Poor Quality product

I purchased a large number of Blue Planet compact flourescent bulbs for use in properties I own. A number of them broke in my hand. Few lasted as long an the old incandescent bulbs. Generally they were only lasting weeks, some stopped working within minutes. The few bulk purchases that I made about one year ago will NEVER be repeated. If Blue Planet has their name on the product, I don't go anywhere near it. Noma was making a better product and they used to be reasonably priced. The extremely high price for these compact flourescents does not allow any cost savings for customers whatsoever.

Long lasting ? hardly..

I bought a dozen of these to replace older cfls that had died, and 3/4 of these replacements failed within a month! The ones that have not yet failed, crackle and flicker constantly.
I went to my local store looking for the Noma brand cfls, only to be told they don't make them, and the Noma product line has been replaced with blue planet!
I have Noma cfl's in two rooms that run 18 hours a day, and these are still going strong after 2 years!
It's a shame that environmentally friendly has to mean "cheap and nasty"!
I've since stopped buying anything carrying the "blue planet" brand - I now buy GE brand CFLS #they're about 50% more expensive, but worth every penny!#

J'ai essayé 2 paquets de ces ampoules en spécial et je les ai retourné parce que la moitié de l'ampoule éclaire fort et le reste éclaire a moitié.Elles sont pas aussi bonnes que des noma mais sont moin cher

Q: Is the light yellow or pure white?

A: That depends on whether you buy "soft white" or "cool white". The soft white bulbs have a warm yellow tint, close to the old incandescent bulbs, while the cool white bulbs throw off a bright , almost pure white glow.
