ALERT: Oversees Support for this Toast Warranty

This Black & Decker 4 slice toaster with 2-year warranty was purchased 1.5 years ago at Canadian Tire. Receipt available. The lever on one side does not stay down. I have since contacted B&D service by phone and was informed to respond to an email address they sent me. About 4 email exchanges occurred where CS requested pictures of the toaster and cord numbers. After waiting a week, I called two days ago and the auto response was that due to the 'hurricane' in the Caribbean their team will be delayed. NOTE: I purchased the product in Canada and haven't had any success in contacting B&D Canada, in Mississauga directly. Canadian Tire shouldn't sell this toaster if one has to deal with cross-boarder customer service support. I’d like to get in contact with someone in the Mississauga office to see if B&D will fix the toaster or give me an exchange.

Black & Decker toaster strikes out.

It doesn't toast evenly. One side is barely toasted while the other is quite dark. When both sides are finally toasted the dark side is actually burnt.
When using the bagel function both sides get toasted.
Very disappointed.

Q: When in Bagel mode, isn't one of the elements in each slot supposed to turn off? On other toasters I have owned, bagel mode only toasted one side of the bagel, leaving the outside untoasted. However, on this toaster, and a previous B&D model, there does not seem to be any difference between regular toast mode and bagel mode.

A: Thank you for your interest in this Black+Decker toaster. To activate this feature, press the toast control lever down until it locks into place, and then press the Bagel button. Pressing the button before the toast control lever is locked into place will not activate the feature. The bagel button is used to toast foods such as bagels or English muffins. The Bagels and English muffins are thicker and take longer than regular bread to toast. When using this feature the inside of the bagel will be toasted and the outside of the bagel will be warmed. The inside elements will heat up more than the outer elements and may appear that only the inner elements are working. If you need further assistance, I’d be happy to help! Q: I've been looking for a new toaster for some time and the majority of displays have the cord cut/removed. Can anyone tell me how long the cord is and where it exits the machine? Our old sunbeam (being replaced) has a front cord exit and it's super short

The tamper-resistant screws should only be removed for service by an authorized service center.
