Hot plate is HOT

I like the B&D coffeemakers. This one replaced one with a stainless steel pot. The pot started leaking and I could not fix the leak, so every day of coffee meant endless wiping of drips. This one works fine, but the hot plate stays on for two hours. I almost burned myself getting my final cup of coffee. If only the off time were programmable.

Everything is great except, the light in the clock. I had to use a flashlight to set the clock!!!

Garbage

Bought it on sale, barely lasted a year! It has a 2 year warranty if you have the bill. I can't find the bill so in the garbage it went! Did regular cleanings. Some days i would brew 6 cups but only get 4. It decided this morning that when turned on all it would do is click. Played around with it and finally started to brew. The smell of burning plastic was unreal. The taste was just as bad.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: My coffee maker is roughly a month old. This morning when attempted to brew our coffee it wouldn’t start brewing. The display seems to be showing everything at once when plugged (after unplugging it). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Q: how long does it take to brew one cup a coffee time wise and is it very hot what are the kilowatts under the machine the higher it is the coffee will be hotter, thanks

A: • Brew basket temperature will be about 80°C (176°F) when one cup has brewed (out of a 12cup brew cycle) but carafe temperatures at that point will be much lower. • The first cup (5oz) of a 12 cup brew: ~1.25 min, ~48°C (118°F) in the carafe (lower temperature results from having to heat up the 12cups worth of grounds, brew basket, and the carafe) • The first mug (10oz) of a 12 cup brew: ~2 min, ~52°C (126°F) in the carafe • Brewing a single cup/mug in the machine may result in higher brew/carafe temperatures but I wouldn’t recommend doing such a small volume. • The heater is 1200 Watts
