    very strong

Used this product with the ts8000 map/pro torch, and it worked great. Makes a very strong joint and after sanding it's almost impossible to see where the braze was. (used with steel) I would have liked if the rods were longer or if there were more in the pack. (actual rods are only 1 foot), also to melt the braze you need to get the metal to a very high temp. would probably work faster with oxy/acetylene torch. But for small jobs it is great!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Does this product work to fill gap on steel (caused by rust? How strong is it after application? Thanks

    1 Answer
    • A: It really depends on the size of the gap and the use case rather than being a definitive yes or no answer. If the corrosion is entirely removed, it is possible to bridge a fairly large gap using some kind of backing material. The braze would not be able to bond with anything oxidized/rusted. The bridge would really not be suitable for any structural or aesthetic applications

Q: can i use this on aluminum tubing?

    1 Answer
    • A: We would not suggest using this on aluminum, it requires too much heat. A aluminum rod such as the AL-3 would be better.

Q: Can I used a propane plumbing torch? Is it hot enough to melt and fuse this solder to small brass fittings 1/4 dia.

    1 Answer
    • A: Yes, a propane torch will get to 3,600 degrees in air and have the heat output to work with that solder.
