Did not come with instructions. Impossible to find a video online to install it. Missing rivets for straps to snap into. Will be returning it.

Same as all the reviews-no instructions. Oh-there’s a booklet attached that’s pretty thick so you think there are-but no. Just a book of every language telling you nothing. Same deal-skating lessons coming up and cage needed. This worked out to be same price as the one with the cage attached-but helmet just seemed to fit better. So here’s the deal. Yes-you need to squish the brackets down on the very front. Easier if you have pliers to squish first-but I didn’t so had to do by hand and a lot of force to screw in. No-you are not crazy-you are not missing screws! I bet you are thinking they are too short? With the J clip-you need to slide the metal ring in between the plastic helmet and the foam. It will feel like you shouldn’t do it-but it does separate. You have to fit it into the centre one. If you have put it in and then try to screw the j clip in and feel like the screws are still too short and you are losing your mind-the metal piece is actually rectangle and must sit perfect in beneath the rectangle in the plastic. Then-if you feel it’s perfect and rectangle is lined up-and screw fits but still won’t screw in all the way, it’s because the metal piece is turning while you are screwing it in. There’s actually a little piece sticking up from the little spot in the foam that the metal piece needs to sit on top so it doesn’t turn. You really have to lift the plastic away from the foam to see it. Honestly-had there been instructions-this would have been fine. Booklet is a complete waste of time. Had it not been for another review on here-I was going to give up completely!

This hockey cage is perfect for the Bauer Lil’ Sport youth Helmet. Very easy to install! Would recommend! If you are like me and bought the cage free helmet to start. Now you have now paid nearly double for the combo cage and helmet. Live and learn.

A: - Wire cage o Chin cup o Chinstrap buckle (Buckles into male post) - 2 J-Clips o Screws for J-Clips - 2 Mounting Clips (Use the screws already in the helmet) - Male post which allows the facemask to be snapped into the helmet

Q: I have the lil sports purple hockey helmet (not the combo caged one). Can I purchase this item and have it secured or is it meant for the combo helmet only? Do I need any other parts to install it onto the helmet?

A: You can purchase this item and secure it to the helmet. It should come with all required parts, as long as you didn't remove any parts from the original helmet purchase.
