Shocked at how well Platinum Shock worked

My 15'x4' deep pool had turned green and I wasn't able to clear it with just vacuuming and chlorine. I had to throw in 2 pouches of the Platinum Shock to get the water clear again. Now it is sparkling as it's supposed to be

USELESS, get regular shock

My pool opening was early, so I could still see the bottom in the shallow end and a bit of visibility in the deep end, so it was not too bad. My pool has 65,000 liters so it says one bag will treat 60,000L so I added a bag and waited 24hrs.... No difference. So I added the remaining 4 bags, and maybe a bit of improvement, but over all I say I just wasted my money on this so called Platinum Shock. Going back to standard shock from now on.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: How much platinum shock do I put in a 9,150L pool.. the box says each pkg treats up to 60,000L pool. can I use 1/5th or 1/4th of the pkg or do I have to use the whole thing?

A: Hi, yes absolutely, If we go back to the basics, your salt system generates chlorine by breaking down the salt ( NaCl) that you put in your pool You should always shock your pool with a granular product. In this case, the Platinum Shock is the best shocking product, it's like a multi-vitamin product. Thanks

Q: Does Platinum Shock have chlorine in it and kill bacteria? How does it compare to Aquarius granular chlorine shock, since you can swim in it after 1 hour which is much different than the Aquarius granular chlorine shock. Thanks!

A: Hi, The Platinum Shock is a blend of 3 products, part is stabilized chlorine granule, none chlorine shock and a clarifier. The mix works differently by oxydizing the organic matter very quickly versus a standard granular chlorine shock. The key component in the mix is the none chlorine shock which allows you to go back in the pool faster. Thank you

A complete kit is available containing these three products; Aquarius Sku # (081-3771-2). Please ensure that you follow the directions listed on the chemical bottle labels for proper dosages; based on the size of their above ground pool.
