Q: We enjoyed this mat and happy we bought it. With winter coming storage is an issue. Can this be left in a boathouse where the temperature will get way below freezing? What will happen to the foam?

A: The mat is fairly large and could get hung up in a small river. I would likely work on a slow moving river, but definitely take a paddle with you.

Q: The mooring attachment is coming out yellow side. Can the attachment be switched so yellow side is up?

Q: The pictures look like the yellow side should be up in the water for this floating mat but the rope is coming out of the yellow side for the anchor. Is this a defect?

A: The anchor rope should come out of the blue underside. However, it doesn’t matter which side is used in the water as my boys and friends often flip it. They enjoy using this mat.

Q: Can the mat be cut to a smaller size? If so, does cut edge need to be sealed and how?

A: I'm not sure, after looking at mat it would appear that it could be cut smaller. I would not recommend cutting mat smaller unless it is necessary and will be used for fewer people. I realize that size makes it difficult, at times, to handle, roll up and store, especially when travelling on boat. Make sure you use a very sharp instrument to cut or damage could result.

Q: How do you get the giant floating mat to flatten out once it’s out of the package?

A: It just eventually flattens in the sun and water. Turn it over so the side that rolls down faces the water so the wind doesn’t catch it. People playing on it and the sun flatten it out within a day or so.

Q: I see in the comments that in rolls up to 30 inches. I would like to know roughly how compact this can be. 30 inches long, how wide? Am I fitting into the trunk of a Santa Fe? Along with a cooler etc

Q: Can this be used in a chlorinated pool? I see most reviews are in using it in a lake...

A: Obviously it would float in a pool but I would not use it there for safety reasons. In my experience watching hours of use by many children of all ages there is continuous action on the mat including pushing, shoving and general rough housing. Also attempts at all kinds of tricks, flips and dives. In a pool all of these activities could lead to injuries as impacts with the pool structure would be inevitable. If all you want to do is lie on it in the water it would work but not as a fun play device.
