Battery compartment rusted out after a single year. Was kept dry and wiped off after use and still rusted.

I got these test strips by mistake.

I bought the test strips by mistake. They were on sale. What a ridiculous concept
Only buy this if it makes you feel like a scientist.
Now back to the simple colour indicator strips.

Q: Why are my results different just minutes or a half hour between readings. Im doing it correctly. Ive wasted 25 strips trying this thing out and my readings are different every time. Even saying 0 chlorine and ALK when I know its wrong!

A: I've compared the machine results with other test strips and they are pretty close. The groove must be cleaned with the sponge and should be dry. Make sure you shake off the excess water and place the strip directly onto the groove. Don't slide it in. Also, shield it from the sun during the procedure. Maybe you just have a bad unit. You can try exchanging it at CT.

Q: Is this reader version 2.2? I had heard that there are accuracy issues with the first version of this tool & that version 2.2 is much more accurate.

A: The strip is identical and when the meter is used according to directions, it should give the same result.

Q: Where Is the POOLCHEMICALS Service? When I tried to return to the advertised companion web site: www.canadiantire.ca/POOLCHEMICALS it's not there. Can anyone explain why it was removed or no longer available?

A: It has not been removed. Click on the Outdoors tab (top right), then Pools/Accessories on the left and then click on the banner where it says "use the pool and spa chemical calculator.
