Poor Factory Inspection

Purchased this toilet and was just about ready to install found on the rim of the bowel a piece of porcelain chipped out and a hairline crack. Returned product an upgraded to a more exspensive model, an installed that toilet and 2 weeks later as I was checking for leaks an tightness found a chip of porcelain chipped out of the tank lid on the backside was even marked with a black magic marker that I missed while installing. 2 for 2 beginning to wonder if they are sold as seconds. For I’m sure the damage on both was done before the factory shipped it.

No Soft Close Lid

I've bought a number of American Standard Cadet 3 Toilets in the past, but this model was not available in my new hometown so I opted for the Sonoma. Seemed like a good unit until I realized there is no soft close lid, so it slams shut. Seriously? I replaced a crap no-name toilet from the 80s, and it had a soft close feature. How much could it POSSIBLY cost to include this on all seats these days. Who in their right mind would WANT their lids slamming shut Larger 'loads' may require a double flush due to the 4.8lpf, I have had TP come back up a few times already. I would have picked the other brand the sales guy tried to get me to buy that had soft close for cheaper, but I was adamant about American Standard due to our history. Loyalty lost!
