This paddle was recommended to me by the store clerk when I bought my first-ever kayak from CT. It does the job. Light-weight and the right size for me.

Not bad

PROS: Good sturdy lightweight paddle for an economy model. CONS: No built-in floatation AND water will enter the handle/bar where the plastic paddle ends are riveted to it, then will pour out into your lap from the centre of the handle, where it disconnects in half for storage. This can be easily fixed by applying some silicone caulking around where the paddle ends mate to the handle/bar.

Ces rames sont de très bonne qualité, facile d'utilisation et très pratique puisqu'elles se démontent. Le seul hic est que l'eau reste accumulé dans le petit creux au milieu de la rame et nous tombe dessus lorsqu'on rame du côté opposé. Un petit peu tannant au printemps et à l'automne quand le temps est froid.

Lost within seconds

My daughter paddled to the middle of the lake, jumped out of her kayak, paddle fell out and sank like a brick. I had to tow her & kayak to shore. Aren't paddles supposed to float for at least a few seconds? Lack of buoyancy is a safety concern for me. Glad it happened close to home and not on a wilderness adventure.

A: Yes, when the paddle is assembled properly it floats. When the paddle is in two pieces it sinks almost immediately.
