Q: The new label says that All-Purpose Grass Seed contains annual rye grass. Three years ago it was reported to contain none. Why did you change such a good product?

A: I am not a company spokesman, but I suspect that most impatient gardeners prefer the fast growing and cold-hardy qualities of perennial rye grass. Personally, I prefer fescue and bluegrass in a higher ratio. Slow and steady wins the race!

Q: What is the approx. proportion of fescue, bluegrass and ryegrass in this bag? Are they 1/3rd each or a different proportions? Also, what type of fescue is it - hard/sheep/chewing/creeping red/slender creeping red?

A: Grass seed should be stored in a cool dry area. It is best to use in the same season, but can be stored over a winter and used in the spring the following year. The germination rate will decline the longer you wait to use the seed.
